Elias,

Check out this site. These guys sell signals and various types of automation circuits. Met them once at a train show... nice guys and cool products.

http://home.houston.rr.com/lrt/

To set up an Automated system you will need three things: Signals, detection for when trains enter and leave blocks and some sort of relay sor signal controllers. The various components can go from fairly inexpensive to quite pricey depending on the detail and features. I have set up automated systems using simple relays and track detectors that were serviceable and not real expensive. This time around I will probably use products from this site.

My two cents,

Guy
