Has anyone heard of the fate of the T&P train depot in Ft.Worth. Hope it is still around, heard they were to restore it, then no more news. apparently there were a few problems with owners and the city etc, Had a peek in the windows @ 4 years ago, it was boarded up , probably one of the best art-deco buildings in the world, now wouldn't that be great model sitting on a layout.

The Texas & Pacific depot is still there, and yes, it is the western terminus of the TRE, Trinity Railway Express. The TRE is a commuter operation which links downtown Ft. Worth with downtown Dallas.

The lower level and the ground floor had some renovations underway when I last visited a few months ago, the redevelopment of the upper floors is still a mystery to me.

It is a great example of art deco architecture, and with the relocation of I-30 to the south of the building, it certainly has regained its stature as a vital part of downtown Ft. Worth.

Forgot to add, the Ft. Worth Transit Agency, the "T", has a small terminal underneath I-30, adjacent to the depot. So buses and trains both use the depot.

This is a beautiful old building that fortunately is being taken seriously as an historical landmark. I lived in Ft Worth for 6 years up until about 18 months ago. I doubt the large building will ever be entirely restored, but its use by TRE is certainly helping. Hopefullt they will rennovate enough of it to make it a decent tourist attraction.
