I've had anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months.
Generally, high-turnover things (LEDS in particular) come fastest, whereas my proto-boards take considerably longer.

Interestingly, I heard a report on the news that China has been afforded very cheep shipping rates which is probably a part of why people can get stuff shipped from there for such great prices. Apparently some feel it is an unfair advantage and are looking at updating shipping rates; if that happens, it may be less attractive to buy parts and stuff from China. If you want to get anything under the current pricing structure, may be a good idea to act now in case rates to go up.

I've had good luck with a number of purchases direct from China. As with any eBay seller, always check the negative feedback. One I've had exceptionally good luck with, and have heard good things about on the model railroad forums is one named We Honest (believe it or not).

The free shipping may be the answer to the delays. I'm just guessing, but they may wait until they have some room in a not quite filled container, and throw some stuff in at the last minute to fill it.
