Posted by Graffen on Friday, March 20, 2015 2:47 PM

Hi all! I just made a new painting:

"Steel and steam".

36" x 28". Oil on canvas. The locomotive is a Swedish H3/A7.

Enjoy  ;)

Nice. Reminds me of our Wakefield excursion steam train in Canada. Was bought from Sweden. Have you heard about it?

Work in progress

Nice. I like it how it is. It looks like winter, the one day a year it snows in the desert.

Very nice!

Reminds me of those Leanin Tree greeting cards of the 1970´s - don´t know whether they are still around, as I have not seen any advertisement in MR for years.

I am admiring your work and while it’s not “train art” I do really like your Waco ink drawing.
Thanks for sharing,

That is beautiful.

I have five original oil paintings in my home, and I love artwork.

Wow, that's some nice work! I hadn't seen this thread before so it was very cool to look through all these paintings! They really capture the railroads and the surrounding scenery!

I hadn't seen this thread before so it was very cool to look through all these paintings!

Me too.

The original painting in this thread, "Steel And Steam", is amazing. It is not incedibly realistic, but the fantastic colors and presentation capture a feeling and atmosphere that is simply beautiful.

It is my favorite of the examples.
