What are the differences between the SD40-2 and SD40-2R?

The "R" generally signifies a rebuild. Many railroads rebuilt their SD40's and SD40-2's to their own preferences so its hard to say exaclty what was rebuilt. Usually some upgrades to the prime mover was done and the electronics were upgraded to Dash-2 standards.
