1st wood Rail Car kit completed!!!
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, November 14, 2004 10:51 PM
Well I finally completed my first wooden Rail Car model. It is a Southern Pacific Vert-A-Pak car. While the kit was hard for a first timer I have a real sense of accomplishment. If I had known more about this car it may have helped me build it better and faster. I really wish someone offered classes on this stuff it could have helped. I will post some pictures in the next day or so. The only problem I have now is this is an 89 foot car and will not work well on my layout since I have no other auto carriers and no other sources of this car. I built it because it was used in my area to transport the Chevy vega from Lordstown.

There is only one way to learn--to try and to do. You did it! Good for you! Hone the skills you have now developed. Just keep building more cars. You'll find that, while they are easier to build, the satisfaction of completing them grows with your expertise.
