hey Roadtrp-

I don't know the gist of your original post, but if certain jackasses have nothing better to do than bring negativity to a Forum like this, most of us would probably wi***hat they'd start collecting "Betsy Wetsy" dolls, or sea shells, or gag on their own farts, instead. Almost every Forum member that actively participates on this Forum shares their unique skills, knowledge, and experiences with the rest of us. This is supposed to be fun, informative, a place to establish comradery amongst people with similar interests, and a place to seek help with a thorny problem. It is the closest some modelers get to what some more fortunate members take for granted - sort of a a cyber space LHS.

I have been critical of some members who have used incredibly rank language that I wouldn't want my family to read, even though it's all over the boob tube. I have blasted a member or two who I felt were being cruel to a Forum member just because he made some typos. Those people may not be jerks, but they were conducting themselves like jerks.

Hey guys, a lot of non model railroaders think we are a bunch of nerds with pocket protectors, engineer hats and big wooden whistles. Stop acting out that image ! It doesn't look good on you.

I'm sure some people think my posts are too lengthy at times, or I use too many quotation marks, brackets, complicated sentence structure, or who knows what. If it really bothers them they can ignore it, send me a consructive email (i'll only be devistated for a little while, but it'll be in private), or blast me on the public forum, in plain view for everyone to witness just how anal, cruel, and possibly just plain stupid some people can be.

I bet that there's someone out there that gets incredibly irriatated when I use three periods like this. . . Here's some more just for you ...........................& one more.

Do ampersands (&) bother some of you? How about brackets like these ( ) ? I can't do anything about the question marks, so don't ask. Isn't this silly.

It's a shame that some people want to censor or control other's opinions. And body slam them when they express themselves or question something. I've made some statements re; how I think Walthers pricing sucks, and so what. I've been a model railroader for over fifty years, and along the way I've formed some opinions. I'll also admit it if I've been in error, or if my opinion has changed, as it did -to an extent - on the subject of Grafitti. Although a lot of you foam at the mouth at the mere mention of anything Broadway Limited, I still think that they are way overpriced plastic engines. So what if I don't agree with you? Athearn 'blue boxes' -all hype - you betcha. Not sure what all the fuss is about. They aren't a bargain anymore, won't be ever again, so get on with more important things. Re: UP royalty fees-we went thru this w/ CSX and will shortly w/ BNSF. We should be used to it now, have all the complaints down pat, and the same people will have to respond to the same complaints all over again. Kind of makes all the mega mergers easier to take. Just think if we had to go thru this deal with all the rail lines in the '40s or '50s ! (did that explanation point bother anyone?)

How did modelers ever get by on such issues before this Forum? Did they kick their dog, yell at the little lady, or break their pencils in two?

If I have ever offended anyone I'd like to be made aware of it so I can undo any harm that may have been incurred. As an example, I hope I haven't typed 'there' , when I meant to type 'their', because I saw a topic dealing with just that. I don't think there is anything wrong with hanging your opinion out for all to read, but don't expect universal agreement. We do not have to be politically correct all the time either. And, if I say something bordering on stupid it was probably very late, I hadn't eaten, or my coffee ran out. Or I was in the mood to say something silly, and it came out as almost stupid instead.

Don't take this hobby so seriously that you want to shut down your layout and go looking for terriorists. Enjoy this Forum and its neat participants. If you can't do that and be a positive contributor, keep your fingers off of the keys and just look. If that isn't working, get a different hobby like I suggested earlier. I like this place, and it irrritates me to no end when I witness adults acting like spoiled brats (and jackasses). . .

BILL
