Posted by AggroJones on Sunday, November 7, 2004 11:29 PM
This hasn't been a good while for me.
My hardrive on this computer melted and I lost everything. Documents, programs, pictures. [V] This SUCKS! At least harddrives are much cheaper now than 6 years ago. So its been a minute before we got things back up to normal here. Well, the bottom line is I'm back. Some of you probably didn't notice I was gone. [|)] [:I]

AJ,
your absence was missed, glad that you are fine - too bad about the computer though. Thinking you might need a strong coffee (or something else) right about now, join me and the rest of the crowd[^]

cheers, krump

That happened to me once. I had 5folders of my drawings and the hard drive decided it would try and **** me off. I got more than it asked for. I took the sledge hammer to it and smashed it to bits. hahahahahahahaha stupid thing.

Not True. I was going to send out the Coast Guard but that would be too hard on our bottoms, ship's bottoms that is[:D]

We weren't quite sure what happened, and we did start a Search and have you seen thread. But no bites.

Anyway it's good to have you back!

Welcome back!

You were missed, and as stated there was the "Where's Aggrojones post".

Sorry about your computer! [B)][:0] That happened to me a few years back. Now I back up important stuff on discs and invested $60 in a backup battery unit. Next will be a heavy duty surge protector. [;)]

It can be annoying having to spend extra hard earned money for protecting your computer, but it does pay off. [:)][:D][8D][;)][8)]

Looking forward to reading your posts!

Cheers!

Welcome Back:

You need a strong cup of coffee so come over the the coffee shop and I'l donate one for you.

I had my computer hit by lightening a couple of months ago. It sure messed everything up and it took forever to find all the CD's and get the programs back on. One of the programs went out of business probably 10 years and it was a stroke of luck that I had it on another computer.

When you were posting about weathering locos for sale, unless you are very wealthy you can't afford to buy, paint, weather, amd then resell. I've found out that you'll have a D&RGW and the customer wants a Colorado Midland. I used to build cars and sell them. When I didn't have the road name that they wanted it was a hard sell and everyone wanted a price reduction for that reason. I wouls like to talk to you about this idea, but through e-mails and not on the forum.

Ya'll have a blessed day and remember SANTA FE ALL THE WAY

Yes, we noticed you were gone--and missed you! Glad you're back, and welcome to the frustrations of the Tech age. Mine hasn't crashed so far, but it does strange things, occasionally. Don't know whether or not that' s a warning--
But welcome back, Aggro. Place hasn't been the same without you!

I know your pain...Just went through that about a year ago when my comp. totally crashed. Very frustrating experience that ended in my purchase of my present comp. In the end, I am happier than before but not before spending time and money to get there. A necessary nuisance I guess.[B)]

You might want to consider backing up your documents and pictures on a USB Flash Drive. They are small (about the size of a stick of gum) and relatively inexpensive (Under $150 for a 1 GB Drive). They are easy to use -- they just plug into a USB port on your PC.

Aggro, welcome back. Sorry to hear about the computer problem, but glad it wasn't something more serious. The coffee is on in the coffee shop.

Aggro!!! I'd been wondering where you'r gotten around to, and am very happy your back and all's good (aside from the computer) Hope you get the computer fixed again, that can't be any fun. I've learned from all the stories like these to keep back up CD's of my pictures and stuff. Just in case.

Noah: I tried to save pictures on disk, but they would'nt burn. This computer had several malfunctions leading up to the crash.

Bo: Yes I got the e-mails.

Teffy: Okay.

Lupo: Not as much progress as I should have, but I did get some rock castings worked in place. And I did "magnet clean" a lot of dirt.
