Question about TRIX whistle
Posted by mikebonellisr on Thursday, November 4, 2004 6:43 PM
I just picked up my Trix Mikado....It looks good and runs great. The steam chuff is nice and deep and in pretty good "sync" with the drivers. My only problem is with the whistle. The sound is nice but I seem to have about a 2second delay from the time I key the function to the time the whistle sounds. Is this normal with this model?

Yes, from what I hear the sound is different on this model. MR said the whistle tone was fixed, so you couldn't sound actual whistle signals.

Well that's too bad. It's a fairley expensive engine, and I had hoped it would have been state of the art.I'm also a little disapointed that it don't have a working front coupler.IMO the BLI Mikado is a better buy.BLI is a little noiser at higher speeds but the sound has more functions and are more controlable.
