Aurora 4709 Postage Stamp Train
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, November 3, 2004 10:46 AM
[?]Can anybody help me? I have pulled out of the closet, after 30 years, an Aurora 4709 Postage Stamp Train. If I start sounding like I don't know anything about trains its because I don't! I dug this out because it has a great deal of sentimental value to us and I would like to pass it on to the grand childern. The train itself looks to be in great shape. There are no instructions on how to set it up. The section of track that goes to the transformer looks as if it was shorted out but still seems good.
Is there any place I can get some information about the set, instructions, and accessories to buy?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...thank you, in advance, for your kind assistance!
Regards,
theshaw

If you type the phrase Aurora Postage Stamp Train into Google it will take you to several sites that discuss this item. It was sold around 1960 as the forerunner of what is today called N scale.

many moons ago, Postage Stamp Trains were mentioned in MR...when, I haven't a clue though. I heard they were pretty dependable given the era.
