My "no show" policy does not include fellow model railroaders! I'd be glad to give a tour and hand over the throttle to any of you!

I guess I'm so hard on kids 'cause I grew up with 27 nieces and nephews. I was always having to share my "toys" (trains) and being admonished to "play nice!" with my younger relatives. I've had more of my trains destroyed than I can count! [:(!]

So sorry, Uncle Randy's trains are not for kids (and most adults) [|(]

Having raised two children I can remember my son and daughter NEVER from 4 years old on EVER wrecking a train. they learned about the slow scale speeds from looking at the UP branch across the street. My wife always would take the control and as she twisted the knob all the way over said "how fast will it go?" followed then by n-scale heading off the rails and soaring onto the deep carpet.

I found an ideal way of preventing this.
1. buy several slot car controllers.
2. set the power pack to the maximum speed that your trains can be safely operated.
3. connect the slot car controllers in series with the power pack.
the slot cat controllers are easy for the non MRR folks to understand and use and they CAN'T overspeed your trains into low earth orbit.
I have used this at train shows and it is very popular with the visitors.
