Latest aquisition: A real winner

Well, today (Sunday) being one week before my B-day, my parents and I went to the LHS to get me some "goods"[;)]. They said they had wanted to surprise me, but they know nothing about trains so they had to bring me with them[:p]. So there I was, faced with the hardest decision of my life. I could get a P2K UP PA/PB set for $150.00, or a Athearn Genesis UP SD70M for $80.00. I chose the 70M. I know what you're thinking. Jonathon that doesn't belong on your layout, it's way to new! True, it doesn't really look right running next to an FEF-3 or an SD7, but I love. It runs beatifully, and all the detail parts are very easy to aply. If anyone was thinking about getting a Genesis SD70M, do it. You won't be dissapointed. (I know I wasn't.[;)])

I prefer Kato's modern loco's, but I've always heard good things about Genesis SD70-series engines, too.

If nothing else, if you ever have the tempation to go to the modern era like I did, you'll have some equipment in adavnce!![;)]

And I thought you said something about getting an RSD15 or Century series loco. Guess I was wrong (AGAIN). Gee I hate it when that happens. [;)]

Can I have the PA/PB then? Can I, Can I, Can I. Pretty please with brown sugar on top. [:p] It would look GREAT under my tree at Christmas. <hint hint> [:D]

Congrats, you lucky devil. [:)]

I know a man that is about 80, has a beautiful full basement HO layout, been in it all his life. His favorite saying goes something like, "It's my *%$& layout and I'll run what I like on it." I never did see the merit of arguing with him about it...

You can bet that PA/PB set won't be there for long Jim. I'm going back as soon as I muster up $150.00!!!!![:p][:D]
