<p>Good Evening!</p> <p>Janie, a mug of dark roast, please - I am exhausted!</p> <p>Spent nearly 5 hours on the assembly of the loco body. This is my first etched metal kit, so I am sure I didn´t do things like a pro would have done. Burnt and cut my fingers a number of times in trying to bent and shape the pieces. I used a regular, but adjustable soldering iron and a micro torch to do the soldering. The micro torch worked the best, but it is a heck of a dangerous tool [:-^]</p> <p>Just a few pictures of today´s achievement:</p> <p><a href="http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv185/SirMadig/P1070065.jpg"><img src="http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv185/SirMadig/P1070065.jpg" alt=" " border="0" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv185/SirMadig/P1070065.jpg"></a><a href="http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv185/SirMadig/P1070062.jpg"><img src="http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv185/SirMadig/P1070062.jpg" alt=" " border="0" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv185/SirMadig/P1070062.jpg"></a><a href="http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv185/SirMadig/P1070060.jpg"><img src="http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv185/SirMadig/P1070060.jpg" alt=" " border="0" /></a><a href="http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv185/SirMadig/P1070060.jpg"><img src="http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv185/SirMadig/P1070060.jpg" alt=" " border="0" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv185/SirMadig/P1070066.jpg"><img src="http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv185/SirMadig/P1070066.jpg" alt=" " border="0" /></a></p> <p>The assembly took a heavy toll on my patience this time. Without the help of my friend Lothar I would have been lost [:'(]</p> <p>In spite of being O scale, this loco is not bigger than a small HO scale loco. Some of those parts are so tiny ! The body still needs a lot of filling and cleaning, but I am quite proud of today´s work.</p> <p>Heading to the sofa for a rest now. More to come!</p> <p>Edit: In case you are wondering what that black thing beneath the loco body is - it is not the chassis, it´s a memory stick.</p>
