There is a way to rattle can spray custom colors, using the Preval aerosol spray bottle. It may not be (well definately not) as good as an air brush, but it does give you the opportunity to mix cusom colors. Just an option for those who don't have/want an airbrush. These are sold in the big box stores like Lowes.

Airbruch. I've had a single action badger for about 20 years and just a couple weeks ago picked up a dual action from Harbor Freight for $19 bucks. Cheap enough that even if it was junk I wasn't out much. So far I'm really enjoying the dual action capablity. Much better paint control than I had with the single action. The only real problem I had was the ACL Purple turned out to be more lavendar in shade. Somehow lavendar does not seem to fit a hard working locomotive. I'll be doing a strip and repaint when I can find a better shade.
