Can you tell me if the trucks/gear tower assemblies are the same on the Athearn Genesis series as the kit EMD F-7s.

They are not, no parts in common at all.
Nigel N&W in HO scale, 1950 - 1955 (..and some a bit newer too) Now in San Jose, California
