There's been discussion about these series of buildings on several boards - they have been discontinued for awhile, apparently because they were poor sellers (at the original MSRP - when they were heavily discounted for clearence only then did they sold like hotcakes - I guess everyone figured they were only worth 1/2 the MSRP, which is what I figured too). I don't think the production runs were all that huge, so I guess you will need to keep checking eBay or Trains Shows, as the discounters' pages listings of Bachmann Spectrum buildings seem to be mostly dead links (as I found by googling).
I have two Ambassador Hotels I plan to combine next year into a fancy apartment house, and now I kinda wish I got the Bus Station on clearence too...

What was interesting was that apparently they weren't selling at MSRP, sold big time at deep discounts (still kicking myself for missing those) but are now selling on ebay for what I believe to be higher than the original MSRP.

I got the Bus Station but missed out on the hotel. I also was thinking of combining two of them into a taller structure. Would look great across the street from the new Walthers station. Guess I'll keep looking!
If you ain't having fun, you're not doing it right and if you are having fun, don't let anyone tell you you're doing it wrong.

Hmm, apparently there were 7 different kits in the range: of these, 2 (Variety Store $50.00 MSRP and Department Store $60.00) are similar to DPM kits; The Metropolitan (80.00) and Trade Tower (90.00!) just don't look right for their size to me (they seem too short and too narrow to need such complicated setbacks - maybe if they were wider and 20+ stories they'd look better); the Savings and Loan (40.00) is kinda like some City Classic Kits, but still it was a very good and usable design, and I wish I'd gotten one of them; the bus station (50.00) is cool looking, but perhaps not as useful for modern era layouts as I first though - but the Ambassador Hotel (80.00) - aha - that's a darn useful kit (combine 2 of them width-wise, so you have 2 entryway courts and 3 ells - that matches literally thousands of buildings in ritzy (and formerly ritzy) residental sections of NY, Philly, Chicago, DC, Boston, and other Northeast Cities.
Perhaps some current building manufacturer can buy the molds for the Savings and Loan, Bus Station, and Ambassador Hotel from Bachmann and start selling these kits again (but at the clearence prices of 1/2 off - that was the correct price-point)
