Should we have some kind of model Photo of the day?

Just want to bounce an idea out here for comment. What does everybody think about maybe having a Model Version of the Photo of the day on the MR hompage. It would be kind of neat to see other peoples layout photo's displayed for us to see. I think It would be kind of a neat idea but I'm curious to see what others think (and what Bergie thinks, Hint Hint). Also if there'd be alot of participation or not. Just a thought.

Good Idea. Photo of the week actually might work better. I say this so we don't run out of pics in the first month. I would gladly submit som photos.

Model of the week would be more appropriate but then who will judge them? I'm sure there will be a deluge of pictures submitted.

If it has an X in it, it sucks! And yes, I just had my modeler's license renewed last week!

We could just slowly put them up in the order that they come in, considering they are properly exposed and such and if they come in too quickly, we could reduce it to a few days or something.

Don't have the equipment or software to download any photos of my layout, but I like the idea very much. I'd like to see what everyone else is doing. As for photo of the month, I'd nominate Aggrojones SP AC-5 right now. It can be seen on several other form websites, and the weathering job he did is just SPECTACULAR! You can almost smell the steam!

I think this would be best moderated by Bergie and Company. Ask him to use his sticky at the top of page one. Depending on the response and not neccesarily by the quality of the photo or layout it can either be photo of the Day or Week.

I believe there are a host of positive merits to this as it would add motivation to some to get them into gear and share their craft with the rest of us.

Most of us need a gentle push once in a while and I think this fits the bill!

Noah, it's your baby run with it!

Fergie

Well, since it appears you people like my idea (which is rare, because I don't get many ideas) I think I'll E-mail Bergie and see what he thinks. I was think it would be neat to do, and I'm glad other people think so too.

Here's my brief input:

- Difficult to add now to the MR home page
- I've added it to the wish list of things to consider when we do Trains.com v3.0
- Photo of the Day might be difficult... maybe photo of the week

Bergie,

The photo of the week sounds like a good idea and probably much more managable...besides that whole magazine thing you guys do in your spare time.....

Just make sure its Trains v3.0 and not Trains NT!!
