Another Poll based on Sam Posey's new book
Posted by bcammack on Monday, September 27, 2004 12:58 PM
In his new book, "Playing with Trains: A Passion Beyond Scale", Sam Posey postulates based on anecdotal evidence that model railroaders tend most often to be the firstborn or only male child in their family. Let's see if this is true!

I am the middle boy. There's one older 35, and one younger 17.

fergmeister: read the questions again. maybe they were edited since you posted that...

"I am the oldest or only male child among my siblings.(or only child)" is the first option.

I am the youngest of two boys, but I didn't wet the bed and I had a good childhood.

Youngest, 1 bro 1 sis, No my Dad did not "bond" with me thru trains, by the time I came along my siblings had pretty much worn my parents out so I didnt get any of the "kid" activity things like Boy Scouts, Little League, or any of that stuff. I became interested in trains mostly thru my Grandpa who was a retired switcher engineer for ATSF, his stories and books were my prime source of introduction to trains. I didnt really get any real chance to build a layout until later in life. A few aborted attempts to build a small layout always ending in frustration, mostly due to lack of space. Now working slowly on another layout, but much more modest in scale than originally planned. Doing it slowely so I dont burn out again.

   Have fun with your trains

I am the oldest of three so I fit the general mold.

Modular railroading at its best!
If it has an X in it, it sucks! And yes, I just had my modeler's license renewed last week!
