I'm planing to take the moter out of the B unit(sense the it runs faster then the A units) and put the sound decoder in it.

Joe. Probably would want to go with a soundtraxx first generation diesel with the appropriate sound. You can find the link to Soundtraxx here: http://www.ncmrc.org/html/links/manufact.php

It can be done to put a DCC decoder with Sound in a F-unit, however to put both a controller and then a sound decoder, might be tough. You will probably need to do what CSPMO is talking about. Or, you would buy up an old Proto 1000 B unit, get the Highliner B kit, and get the B unit all together. This will let you get the speaker and sound decoder in your engine.

Hope this helps.

I think you'll be wise to wait for the Tsunami to come out. Should be out in November.

That'll work, also an Intermountain 'Smart Dummy'.

TRICK is to mount a 'Baffle' sealing the front wave from the back wave of the speaker,. so one comes out the grills and the other through the bottom of the car.
It can be done, and the sound will be superior. Such a Baffle makes the speaker effectively larger.
