I've had a similar problem after removing/refitting the cabs on my Dash 9s - I remove them to install the number boards/headlight glazing parts as there's more room available to fit these with the cab off the shell. I found that sometimes the cab moulding doesn't fit back quite right, sometimes a little "tweaking" with a file/craft knife is needed to get it to sit back in properly. I'd suggest removing (unclipping) the cab (follow the kit instructions) and refitting it.

As far as detail parts are concerned, Details West have a good range - take a look at the Dash 9s on their website (Athearn models superdetailed with their components) http://www.detailswest.com is the address.
