Can anyone tell me how Athearns SD45 trucks mount to the frame? I know the GP40-2 has a pin cast into the frame and the SD40-2 has a circular depression milled into the frame. Is the SD45 like either of these or something altogether different? Gary Taylor

Athearn SD9, F45, FP45, and SD45 trucks use a pin machined out of the frame saddle. I have made them out of steel and brass stock and attatched them to custom frames. I don't remember the diameter of the pin, but it was very close to, or actually was, a commercially available size. I believe the SDP40 trucks are the same, but I am not 100% sure of that.
Good Luck, Morpar
