Nice shot.  I love black and white photos.

Well my weathering has slowed down some due to school.   Decided to go back and get a two year degree, so my "rust" isn't in fullsteam as it once use to be.

 Here's a ADM I finished up.

Hey everyone!

This has been a great week for me and my sons. We went to Altoona Pa to catch a look at NKP 765 on Horseshoe Curve. Here is my son Alex's video:

And my son John"s video:

We made some real progress on the new roundhouse. Here are a few pics:

Still lots to do but it's looking pretty good.

15 hours and only 5 posts? where is everybody??Confused

IN the May 2012 MR, Paul Dolcos had an article on buildings he made from photos of actual buildings. I decided to try something similar using a building designed with Evan Designs Model Builder program, printed on photo paper and mounted on matt board. The Teacup Cafe has walls, doors and windows from Model Builder. The sign was done in Powerpoint, the cafe windows were store display pictures from the inernet, as is the cat in the lower right window. I scratch built the cornice and pillars by the building doors from styrene.

This was a learning experence, and there are some mistakes; however I am satisfied with the overall result. I have already designed a second, larger building

Teacup Cafe is the first building for Exchange St in Sheepscott. To see how the building looks with other plastic kits, I put it with some buildings on Depot St in Greenvale Junction. Except for the height difference, I fits in fairly well.

Mike,

Where have you been? I see you have returned on the 1st day of winter here in Australia with an appropriate bleak looking photo.

Have also looked at all your photobucket shots, some real gems in there.Smile

Looking forward to more

A good start to WPF guys. Keep the photos and ideas coming.

Here is one from a recent session on the BRVRR:

NYC #9622, The Grafton Turn heads toward Grafton to start its run.

Keep them coming guys. You always make this the best thread of the week.

Remember its your railroad

Wow, talk about IMPRESSIVE work, this weekend!

Didn't do much this week, but here's a shot of some power getting serviced at the facilities in Deer Creek.

This is an RC transfer caboose kitbashed from a tyco 40' flatcar, a cut down Life-Like NE caboose (the old trainset type), and various bits of styrene and brass, along with a few details.  I still have to add the pilots, get the couplers to the right height, and add corner steps.

Modeling whatever I can make out of that stash of kits that takes up half my apartment's spare bedroom.

mikelhh

Your work is FANTASTIC. I think I'm pretty good at telling quickly a great modal picture from a picture of a prototype. I thought your picture was in the wrong thread when I scrolled down. I had to keep looking. I finally took a close look at the VW Bug.

What a great job you've done. The background looks natural. It sets the scene. The dirt that takes up about 1/4 of the picture is one of the most convincing. Irregular ballast. Some of the dirt looks a little muddy.

The Only other thing I can see is the switch in the foreground looks slightly model like with the height of the rail. I really hope you post more.
