Good Afternoon,

after some relaxing hours on the beach at Warnemünde, we are now heading for the town of Binz on the island of Rugen, which happens to be the largest island of Germany.

This is were we will stay tonight:

As we are on the coast, we will go for a nice fish dinner tonight.

Some more impressions of rugen:

Tomorrow we will take a ride on the remnants of a once fairly large network of narrow gauge lines, connecting all parts of the island.

The following days will see us slowly heading back towards Hamburg, with stop-overs in Bad Doberan (just to ride on the "Molli" - a steam operated line connecting a few seaside resorts) and Lübeck, with its medieval city-center.

Our tour throughout Germany took us to some of the highlights the country has to offer, but certainly not to all. There is a lot more to see, but covering all of that would not be possible in a month´s time. On our tour, we have traveled about 1.500 miles by train, boat or bus, actually not much, considering the great variety of landscapes and cities we have visited. For those of you, who are interested in history, there are many more places to visit, like Wittenberg, where Martin Luther lived, orv Aachen, where Charles the Grat (Charlemagne) was crowned to become the first German "Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire of German Nation" in AD 800, now claimed by both the French and the Germans. We could go to Trier to visit the 2.000 year old Roman Porta Nigra gate or visit Worms to feel like a medieval German King. The list would be endless.

I hope you have enjoyed the tour so far - it was certainly an honor to be your tour guide this month.

Have a good time!
