Hi all

Had a rather shocking experience today (apologies in advance for the appalling pun) - discovered that an old 12v DC power pack we'd had around for years was faulty, unfortunately this wasn't apparent until it tried to throw me across the room. Given I weigh a bit more than the transformer it got flung at the wall instead. No ill-effects but not a pleasant experience!

Scott, I'd second PC's suggestion of the Minitrix chassis - you could always put a B-unit behind it in the train to provide the power, I remember reading about one of the Canadian operators doing that for steam excursions although the B was there as a backup in the event of the steamer failing.

Bye for now
