I'd love to have some non-brass steam NP steam locomotives with NP specific details. Or why not MILW 261 or SP&S 700?
As far as a diesel goes, i'd love to see Athearn re-do their SDP40 with a scale width hood along with their SD9.

I remember seeing a very nice Erie layout in MR back in the 1990's, and there were lots of nice black Erie geeps - so there have been nice versions done before, probably by Atlas and/or Proto 2000. Bug Athearn and let them know what you want! Don't be shy!

Back in the 90s it wouldn't be unusual for a modeler to paint all his locomotives for his chosen road. So, it certainly could be that this was the case. It also could be that as you suggest, Erie Geeps were offered by some manufacturer.
I have painted a few diesels and did so for a GP-7, an SW switcher and a three unit F-7 consist for Northern Pacific. At the time, for whatever reason Athearn's colors for F-7s was a darker green with the N.P. Pine tree striping, when black would have been the correct color. All it takes to do this is the appropriate loco some paint and a Micro Scale decal set for the loco chosen. I think Erie's paint scheme was even easier than Northern Pacific’s and mostly black. It is not hard to do; but, takes some patience and you will end up with exactly what you want. If you want to wait until some manufacturer makes the units you need in todays "Get your name down on the Pre-Buy list", then good luck with that!
Both Atlas Kato and Proto 2000 have produced Erie versions of their GP7's. Bachmann currently produces one. However, the Genesis GP7's are just gorgeous. Plus they come with Tsunami sound. That's why I'm waiting.

I was waiting for some BN ones, and they did make them. But with the wrong steps and a few omissions I noted. I wonder why Genesis hasn't done any Great Northern Geeps yet either...
I could do the steps myself (I've done it to some proto 2000 GPs), but I don't know if anyone offers an etched metal step kit for the Genesis Geeps. I have a scan of the blueprints for the step wells on BN/GN SD7/9s and Geeps

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
yes, I have a pair of Atlas "yellow box" GP7's in Erie paint. These were new out-of-the-box when I recently bought them; very likely from the mid to late 90's. Very nice models indeed. I get models like these from a man that acquires them from dealers, at train shows, etc. (a retired locomotive engineer himself). He's been dealing in buying and selling model trains for a long time and I trust him. I've gotten some great deals through him; good thing, too, as there is not much choice here in terms of any LHS's that deal in model trains.
Walthers is doing just what I have wanted, two new numbers for the NS GP60.
As to what else I would like to see. I have two custom painted blue box Athearn U28C's. I would like to see a new DCC sound version that the old blue box shells would fit.

Basically you have to be johnney on the spot when something comes out and get it right away, if it is popular. If thats the case with Erie, then get them while they are availble. After that, it's a treasure hunt where patience is a virture. I've been able to find and buy engines I missed, for the most part, by patiently watching for them.

Bachmann has offered some specific steamer like the C&O H4 and the B&O M1, some there is may be some hopes to see a N&W landmark steam loco
I would love to see Atlas do an N scale FM 16-66 for my Milwaukee Road project. Also a High Nose Alco C628. And any of the Baldwin road switchers. It also would be nice to see some N scale kits to do a good Paduca geep in N scale.
It would be nice if someone came out with a Genset and/or an AC6000 in N scale. Of course, someone may have announced them, and I'm just not aware of it.

We had it better back in the good old days. When I first became a serious model railroad you could get any locomotive you wanted at any time - as long as it was a F7 or GP9 and the road was Santa Fe or Union Pacific.
I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I'd be in for a SDP40,and both versions of the SDP45 in N scale.Some U boats in Z would be nice too.So would an affordable F40-PH in Z .
Come to think of it both SDPs in Z would be nice.

Or a good quality plastic C-415 in HO/N. Speaking of Alco, someone (*ahem* Atlas *ahem*) could fill out the Century series a little better with a C-424 model, specifically in N, and a rehash of HighHood switchers with updated tooling (better detail) in N. But then again I guess I am stuck on N, unless I move into an warehouse or department store or something like that.

A new release of GP30's and SW8/9's from Atlas. This would go good with MR's new Burlington layout. Also some SD24's in CBQ would go nicely too. I'm hoping to pick up a new release GP35.
(edit) oh man how could I forget this. CF7's in round roof and angular roof cabs, maybe a SF GP7u so I wouldn't have to build one in N scale, and I second an NRE gen set in N. Atlas now has a gen II Genset in HO, why can't they make one in N?
