"Atlas Improved Forum" not - Registration problems
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, September 4, 2004 3:50 PM
I knew the New and Improved forum propoganda from Atlas was just that, an excuse to close down the forums. Now the new and improved is open and you can't sign up. I go to sign up and hit the "accept" button and am caught in a circular washing machine cycle of being taken back to the original screen of reading the agreement, and having to hit the "accept" button again. Can never get past it, in the new and improved forum format.

Of course, I can't complain there since I can't sign up in the new and improved forum format.

Rick

I had to go change the settings on my web browser to register. I had to go to Tools/Internet Options/Security and add Atlas to my list of Trusted sites. Then I had to go to Tools/Internet Options/Privacy and specifically allow cookies from the site. That allowed me to successfully input the registration info.........................[^]

Of course, I still haven't received the automatically generated response email with the link you need to click to complete registration. [%-)] So the end result is the same. I can't get in either. [banghead]

I liked the site, but I'm starting to ask myself if it's worth the trouble to get in. It wasn't this hard the first time.

Regards

Ed

Well...initially the Atlas forum failed to recognize my old user name and password, nor would it accept them when I tried to re-register. Several tries at entering a new user name and password finally got an e-mail acceptance message but you needed to go to another URL to activate it. I did so and that location wouldn't log me in! Finally, after 6 or more attempts to register yet again, spread over several days...it worked. What a nightmare. New and Improved? Not hardly!

I'm in. Took me approx ten minutes to realize that I had to re-register.

Strange.
My normally non-techie brain got me signed up and into the forum in 5 minutes. Just lucky I guess!
One thing I have notices so far, they got a lot cooler smilies[:D] over there than we have here!
