I've looked for a modern type water tower in the hobby shop and in a few catalogues and all I can find is the old tank type. I'm looking for some kind of info on the "oval on stem" type. I could scratchbuild it, but I've got no prototype info (height, width, etc.) except eyeballing it. Thanks for any input!

Are you talking about the steam locomotive type? Walthers Cornerstone makes one with a round bottom in HO, and Plastruct makes one they call a kit (it's their shapes and a plan)in HO and N and possible O and S as well. If you are thinking of the municipal kind I call a "golf ball on a tall tee" (several are actually painted that way!) I know of no models.

Thanks Gregg and Vic-
Yeah the one I'm looking for is the golfball on a tee design. I'm sure I could scratchbuild one but I would'nt begin to know where to get prototype specs. I'll look into those German/ European models and see what I can find. Thanks!
