Overland Parts on HO plastic locomotives
Posted by AntonioFP45 on Tuesday, August 24, 2004 10:35 AM
Hey guys,

I took Trackster's advice and checked out OVERLAND (OMI).[swg][tup]
According to their parts list, they have "see thru" screens for the 8-40C.

Have any of you used diesel locomotive detailing products from Overland, particularly the rear side screens? As mentioned on another post, I'd like to install "See Thru" side radiator screens on Athearn U-33B locomotives. I was going to use the EMD SD40T-2 screens but if I could find something closer to GE, so much the better!

Thank you!

Overland's detailing parts are those that they use on thier brass locomotives.....While you are modifying your Athearn U-boat, you should also consider narrowing the hood to scale width, a Hi Tech cab, .........or start with a P2K U30B or Atlas U33C shell.

I have purchased many OMI detail parts and have found them to be of high quality. I usually look through their catalog before ordering from other manufacturers. Try a web site called Modeltrains.com out of Canada. They have a large supply of all the OMI parts and they are cheap.

I have several Overland front couplers and mounts for the Walthers Russell snow plow and think they are great, especially for the price! In the past I've scratchbuilt such mounts, a lot of work!
