Evening all, and welcome to all the newbies[:)]

Well, went to the open day down at ontracks today (one of the mail order suppliers I order from - they get most of my LGB and Fleischmann parts orders), interesting demonstrations. Mainly went to attempt to get dad back into the hobby - he was asking me DCC questions the whole drive home, so I think I may be getting somewhere!

Roads were full of motorbikes as usual for a sunny weekend in this part of the world, they're scary as they seem to have no clue about safe overtaking - they'll go past you when there's a massive truck coming the other way! Luckily didn't have any spread themselves over the scenery this time, though I've seen it happen in the past - guessing they're telling themselves "it'll happen to someone else" - think the crew of the Titanic said similar things...

In better news, I've picked up another cheap LGB car on ebay. RhB 2-axle boxcar for £27 (RRP is £70-odd). It needs new couplers and one replacement (cosmetic) axlebox moulding, but those shouldn't be too pricey - now all I need is a parts supplier who does LGB. Future plans for my G scale collection are mostly RhB now - those "Swiss Railway Journey" programmes on the Travel Channel are dangerous to your wallet!

Bye for now.
