Rivarossi Hudson

Anyone have any experience with the Rivarossi 4-6-4 Hudson's? I'm thinking of buying one soon, and at $200 each would like to see what other owners think first.

I like mine. The only trouble I had was putting a Kadee coupler on the tender. Other than that, it's fine.

Best Regards,
Darrell

I see in MR, Trainworld is selling them for $165.00.
Whomever you deceide to buy from, make sure it carries the Walthers one year warranty. There's lots
of Rivs still out in the pipeline from the old Moddel expo days(now without warranty)

Actually, there are still a lot of Rivarossi engines and passenger cars around from the old AHM days in the 1960's as well.. [have some ].
Look pretty good, but have rather poor motors and drives, have deep wheel flanges.
Parts for the engines are rare, and extremely difficult, if not impossible to find, limited private sources only.

I have a C&O Hudson. It runs great, but it has large wheel flanges. It has a five pole motor but no flywheel. It was made in the mid 90's according to the parts list. Don't quote me on it but I think that the newer ones have a flywheel and NMRA spec. wheels.
I hope this helps.
