Ed - as for a reversing loop on my layout I think I am going to stay away from it to make the wiring simple.... as for right now the lower level is just in super early planning stage because I may not be able to do it. Eventually I will be going with magnetic couplers as well. As for running the train backwards down to the lower level that is my plan or else I would need another siding on the lower level for a switcher so I could take the train to the turntable and then put the rolling stock up. The lower level will just be storage eventually and not have any kind of buildings or scenery involved with it.. I am planning on having about 6" of clearance which will give me pleanty of room to reach in there to do any kind of uncoupling (I have skinney hands). As for elevations I am not exactly sure of what I am going to do with that.... I will have an update with that eventually. Just remember that this is very early planning because I don't have the money currently to start buying my lumber for the benchwork. I hope you all enjoy my progress.
