Not'a problem'o. Cop an unnumbered unit, and study how to decal it. Make sure to get the version with the SD50 blower duct, behind the conductors side of the cab. Several versions are in the CSX fleet. Also, CSX #701 made a debut in LaGrange, Illinois, in 1997 at the September 21st open house and seventy-fifth anniversary of Electromotive. They displayed the unit, and allowed unrestricted access to the locomotives. I could almost hear 'ole Dave say "Allen, look at all these wonderful people on the side of those engines"! Sitting in the cab, the action of unp-teen people, walking in step up the right side, as they went through the cab, made the locomotive rock, slightly, which came off to me as a sort of jolly effect, something that don't happen every day, and can't be re-created at any cost. Enjoy Your Spirit! ACJ.

Hi Dan. While this info (on the 3rd release) may not yet accessible through a link on the Athearn website, it was in the Athearn News e-mail they sent out on July 27th. Check this link:

They're due in September.

I've seen the CSX macs from the first run in my LHS and they are sweet. I was tempted to buy one even though I model the southwestern rails (I did buy the BNSF H2 mac) - I'd call it run through power (as I do often see CSX and NS locos through Cajon Pass, even a flared CSX.) I also saw the second run Grinsteins/BNSF macs at the same LHS and these units are also simply beautiful!! Again I was tempted to buy units from areas I don't model.

For what it's worth, my LHS (Trainquest in Moreno Valley, CA) still has the 3 CSX's (first release) and the 3 (second release)BNSF cream&green units in stock, and only for $99.95

Enjoy the hobby - I sure am.

Greg
