Have you checked the back of your most recent MR? I don't have one with me so I don't know what is there, but I am sure there is one since that is a popular place. You can also look in the Yellow Pages under something like "Hobby" and that might yeild a few results.

Nope, nothing close to Myrtle Beach in the back of MR (only three stores are listed for the entire state!). I would say check a local phone book.

If it has an X in it, it sucks! And yes, I just had my modeler's license renewed last week!

Actually, you ar all wrong (evil laughter, evil laughter) I livee in myrtle beach, yet there is only one shop. It is locared in Christies Christmas. Not much of a selection, but it serves. Well, two miles away, there is a town called Conway. The location for the main office and yard of Carolina Southern Railroad and just off main street is a great hobby shop called Creative Pastime Hobby shop. You don't have to go up to spencer north Carolina, ametuers. It has a good selection of every scale exept S and Z. It also has stacks of old magazines. It is a tresure trove yet the owner wants to close. He said unless someone comes along and wants to run the store, he will close in a year.
