Good Morning Everyone,

I had a sleepless night - not due to my usual insomnia, though. I am still all exited about my find. How could I ever forget I have such a treasure?

There are so many fond memories connected with that loco, which all came to my mind last night. I remember very well, how much I had to fight cleaning it for the paint job, putting on a coat of primer and spray painting it. It was my first attempt at working with an airbrush and without the help of a friend, it probably would have turned out to be a complete disaster. Karl Riese, an expert modeler, died recently, so this loco is some kind of a tribute to him as well.

I know, that having a loco does not mean having a layout, but I think I should read this as a sign to do something with that loco. It deserves to get some mileage on it, after being boxed in for such a long time. Maybe I take up Wolfgang´s suggestion and build a HOn3 module or mini-layout, just to be able to see it run. I have no idea how to finance such a venue, but there is a certain obligation, isn´t it?

Narrow gauge modeling is a challenge - supplies are limited in Germany, there is only one dealer who sells Blackstone stuff. Unfortunately, narrow gauge does not mean narrow prices - $ 120 for a caboose is quite a lot. I don´t know whether LaBelle is still around, they used to make affordable kits. My dream train would consist of two stock cars, a flat car and a combine - $ 500 for the rolling stock is out of question!

Well, time will tell, what I will be able to do with it, other than just keeping it boxed again.

Zoe, a strong coffee, pancakes, sausages, fried eggs (sunny side up) and buttered toast, please.

Have a good one!
