Good Afternoon,

it is one of those days to be better spent in bed. Lotsa [st] and [um] - yucch!

Janie, a bucket of coffee, please and a slice of that pumpkin pie, thank you!

I had been fiddling around a little with that track plan idea for the Swiss mountain railway, when a crazy idea struck my head - why look for a managerial job with no result, why not look for something else, something more "railroady"? A Swiss friend of mine had told me, that there is a shortage of loco engineers in Switzerland, so I spent all morning searching the web for info on how to become an engineer. Wouldn´t it be fun to drive a 1:1 train on one of those spectacular lines instead of only modeling one?

I would have to overcome two big obstacles, though. # 1 is age - I am 54, not 40 anymore. # 2 is I am German, not Swiss and aside from my native German tongue, I only speak a little English, no French or Italian or Rhaeto-Romanic (that´s an own language in the Canton Engadina - a mix of Italian, German and a sore throat).

Despite those obstacles, I will give it a try - all they can say is a no!

Lee - my Mom´s birthday is yet to come. It is on the 17th. Petra finally found buckwheat flour, so my Mom will get a very special [^] this year.

Speaking of engine oils, all our "modern" motors require that 5 W 50 high performance synthetic stuff, which is sold at a mere $ 76 a gallon - ouch! An oil change runs up to $ 200, not really a bargain.

CUL, folks!
