Kato track systems

Has any one out there used the Kato "N" gauge track systems. I'am going from HO to N, and thinking about using that system, the system seems to be easy to work with. Thanks Searay

Hello Searay,
My layout is done using the Kato Track System. I fine it very easy to use.My layout is 10 x 10 in N Gauge. The only draw back that some people fine with Kato is that it can be very expensive and hard to fine. Also, another advantage I found was there really was no need to lay roadbed because as you know the track already has a road bed with it.The track snaped to toghter easy and if you make a mistake just take it apart and redo.

bob hall: I like Unitrack. Buy all of it from caboosehobbies.com. Wi***here was more indfo on internals--turnout wiring, control etc. Kato treats it like toy trains. Every time I buy some part, seems like I have to buy accessory to work it. EG: Turnout requires 1. control switch, 2. dc converter. Extra cost items. Of course their argument probably is one can manually operate turnout without extra cost. They should package it both ways. Bob Hall

I have bought much track from National Hobby in MRR and have had excellant service. They are very quick to correct mistakes/ service is very prompt. Also, one of the recent N scale magazines showed a way to wire a turnout without buying the Kato controller---using a DPDT MOMENTARY toggle switch.
