HO TRACK WIDTH INQUIRY

Greetings. A quick trivia question from someone with no experience with model trains. WHAT is the width, in milimeters, between the tracks in HO
scale?? (Obviously we don't have a sample of HO track handy or we'd measure it ourselves.) We purchased 3 sets of toy trains during a close-out sale at KB toys for our 5-year-old son. The sets came with their own track ... molded in plastic.
We're working on a small layout and rather than taking our dremel tool to the existing toy track and modifying it for a pair of scratch-built
bridges, we were hoping that we could add some conventional HO scale track to supplement the toy set's track. Any assistance would be appreicated. - Eric

The distance between tracks can be any width in any scale, but if you mean the distance between RAILS in one track, it is 16.5 MM in HO scale.
