I have made up my mind

Dear Trains.com people,

I have decided to model the Conway (not Conrail) section of my local short line railroad, Carolina Southern. As there is no manufactur that produces these enigines, I will be painting engines that are similar to the ones that run on the railroad.

My first 4 painting goals are, Class unknown ex-Southern deisil, ex Wacamaw Coast Line (paint sheme similar to Atlantic Coast Line) GP7, Carolina Southern Red scheme F7A Red and Whitye scheme, and Carolina southern GP38? #100. I will buy to Harriman style coaches, one smoothside observation, and heavyweight observation car.

Two cabooses, and three box cars are in the non used siding in the conway depot, as well as en ex Louisville and Nashville coach.

One of the conductors said to me he will add two more sidings and turn the Plane Hanger like shed into a caoch shop, so I will make a model of that. If you want to see the track plan, e-mail me at locomotive10@aol.com.

Your plan sounds good. Something to look into dont try and jam a ton of track on the 4x8.

I dont know if you decided on a track plan but MR ran a article on a small 4x8 layout the Red WIng division. I think there is info on it on the MR site but not sure. If the track plan isnt i have it scanned in to the computer and you could use it as a guide.

Don't worry, I don't have to.

The yard I plan to model has three traks. two are sidings and a main line runs through the middle, I will add a turntable, a two track engine house, and the track to the planed caoch shop. after the yard the track will gently curve and there will be a small one track line though th country, then I will enter a small town and dissapear between two buildings and run behind the back drop, croos a bridge and end up at the place it started. there will be a switch to represent the spur to the electricity plant and a small peice of track. Thats all. It will work on the 4x8. Over time I will expand though.

Should be a good plan. When do you start building?
