I'm Wondering if maybe you could use flat cars to transport food over long distances?

Many years ago there was a chain of restaurants in New York City that used Lionel Standard Gauge trains to deliver food to patrons at the lunch counter. I recall a dinette in Freeport, NY, that used even bigger Buddy L trains. The hamburgers were delivered on plates on flat cars. No doubt there is at least one somewhere in the USA doing this with "G" gauge trains today.

I doubt it. Small "fast food" restaurants with a "hook" like "Hamburger Junction" in New York did not survive the coming of McDonald's, Burger King, and the other big franchise chains.
