Has anyone ever came across any scale drawings of the facilitiesthat are used in oil refineries that fill the tank cars. I am trying to find anything that I can use for my N scale layout. Thanks for your help

The Walthers Oil Refinery kit in N scale includes a tank car loading platform. There was an article in "Model Railroader' some years ago about such platforms but it did not include specific plans as each one was different. It took me over a decade to figure out how to build mine. I was stumped until I rememebered that a model rocket my son built fell apart when it landed in a pond. I built a jig out of balsa and white glue and soldered the platform together out of brass shapes and screen for walkways. When it was finished I soaked it overnight in water and the jig came apart, leaving me with the platform.

I found a refinery kit from Plastruct, but I don't know if it would be in there or not. I already have the Walthers kit, but it has not been out of the box yet.
