PITTSBURGH AND LAKE ERIE RR GP38

Can anyone tell why one of the worlds busiest railroads in history has so few models offered in any scale. I just baught 2 GP38's by Atlas, and they are awesome. Still, I am wondering why I have not seen any other locos, and just a few offerings of P&LE rolling stock.
Also, I am looking for history books or info on EMD locos. Are there any web sites, or books that I can look for that will help me?

FINNIUS 72,
Stewart makes some U28's Ithink.
Proto 2000 made some nice gondolas.
Bowser makes some 45 ton coal hoppers.
MDC made some ballast cars.
Walthers has some 46' gondolas.
Athearn made a loco at one time, sometimes can be found on Ebay.
Athearn also made a bay window caboose in NYC with P&LE sub lettering.
Athearn, Branchline, Proto 2000 & Roundhouse made some boxcars.
IHC made a loco, don't know which model, but can still be found.
Branchline made some nice passenger coaches in the last 6 months.
Broadway Limited made a 2-8-2 steamer in NYC with P&LE sub lettering.
Walther also made a cushion coil car.
Atlas also made a 2-bay hopper.
Roundhouse made a 2-bay covered hopper, although I think a special run.
All that I can think of at the moment,
