Hi. Its my understanding that the 40ft. an 86ft, came out at the same time. The 86ft. car was used to haul light bulkier auto parts. Engines an transmissions were usuailly shippin in the 60Ft. variety. You are correct, the 40ft. was used for white goods. True you sure could ship a lot of washers,dryers,an refrigeraters in a 86ft. car but the weight factor!! If they did ship white goods in a larger car it sure is news to me!! I have a few of the Athearn cars, but have been looking for a while for these. Again thanks for the help. P.S. With the Url you gave me it seem I have a back door into Walthers as I have nevered registered! Going in thru the front way it has always been no go. I do not like giving out a lot of personel info over the net especailly on a unsecured site. Sohow it left a cookie on my system!!! GREAT!!!!
