Good Evening Folks,

I am back from my day in the GULAG, where I spend most of the time writing posts to the MR forum [:D]

No, Zoe, nothing to eat for me this time, just a coffee and a Calvados for me, thank you! I just had supper, Petra made something out of nothing, but it was delicious!
Track plans are great until first contact with the bench work!
Lee - wiser words have never been spoken on that issue! A plan is just a plan, as long as you don´t give it a try!

John - I have stopped thinking about my layout, if only for a little while. The best ideas I gather when I don´t think about it. Your dad´s from Ealing? Well, what a small world! When I worked in London, my little flat was in Ealing, just off Ealing Common. Every night, when walking home from the tube station, I was greeted by a little old lady, who was looking out of her 2nd floor window, with a hearty "Good Evening, Sir" and I answered " A Good Evening to you too, Madam". It was a kind of ritual that lasted nearly a year. One fine day, when I returned from home leave, the window remained closed - forever. A few days later I went to the Ealing Anglican Church to maybe find out what had happened. I was informed that she had died, and that the memorial service would be the next day. Guess who took a leave from work to attend the service! It was an honor for me. Sadly, I was the only one attending!

Handlaying turnouts would certainly stretch the buck a little longer, but I have never done it before, and my soldering skills are, well, better not mention it. [:(]

Jerry - that is a good looking ice platform you have built there [tup]

Todd - just kidding us, eh? I know there is a longer post in the pipeline! [swg]

My January copy of MR has just arrived today, so it is back to the sofa for some cheerful reading!

Have a good one!
