Good Morning,

Chloe, please, I urgently need coffee to get me eyes open. Thank, you are so kind...

I am attending the seminar again. There is a bloke up front, trying to teach us how to work with a PC. I am trying to make the best out of the situation by visiting the diner and to do some research for my layout "in being". Looks like it will have an "arctic" theme again, but I am not yet decided, whether to pursue my initial ARR ideas in HO scale or go for that great looking WP&Y Mike in Sn3. I just pretend I have that space in Christian´s room ...[:)]

Jim - I am still a subscriber to MR (did that in better times), so I have seen that article on the coffee table layout. A nice piece of w*rk. Some 30 years ago, MR ran a similar article on this topic. Whereas it is an excellent ida for someone having no space at all, I find it to have some limitations which I would not be prepared to accept. The key issue is viewing height. Unless you crouch on the floor, you always get a bird´s view to the layout. At 6´5", crouching is not really my thing ...

What I have in mind, is a shelf layout with an average width of 16 - 18" along the 16´ wall in the room, and two or three detachable segments, that can be stored underneath the long part, when my son´s visitung us. This leaves plenty of room for a bed, a desk and some closets for clothing. I am still in the needs for good arguments to get Petra´s approval ... [:-,]

It is much too warm for the season, 8 C and wet. The weatherguessers predict tmperatures way below freezing for the weekend, and a lot of that white stuff.

Now the weather outside is frightful [:-^]

HAve a good day!
