The carbon is a partial contributor to the overall dirty track condition". <br />Other factors that contribute to oxidative degradation are oxidation, organic & external <br />contamination (tobacco smoke, hair sprays, dust, overspray from air brushes etc) <br />And as pointed out above, cooking too.
