Model Railroading books

I hope I'm not out of line here. Most of us would probably appreciate the chance to save some money on our hobby, and I have found many books, including Kalmbach Publishing books, for sale at very low prices at Walmart.com. If it is generally agreed on not to give competitive info for this site, please let me know. After all, Kalmbach is still selling the books to Walmart for us to purchase, right?

Another good source for articles is back issues of MR and other magazines. My local train shop has boxes of them for CAN$0.50 each. Many of the articles from the 1980s, and 90s (some even older) end up in the "compliation" books - e.g. "101 ideas for..."

I'd also suggest Amazon.com, or Amazon.ca (depending where you're from). I've purchased some kalambach books that costed $20 USD for $18 CAD (which would have costed me almost 40 bucks if I converted the 20 USD in CAD)

Also don't forget the library. Many libraries have books on model railroading, including some out of print titles. Checking a book out and spending two weeks with it is a very good way to decide if you want to buy it.
