Since [:D]emeraldisle is taking over the forums with Northeastern roads,[:D] We'll do a thread for us grange fans, too. Anything can be posted about any Midwestern line-C&NW, Milwaukee, Wabash, Burlington, CGW, M&St.L, Rock Island, Chicago & Alton, Illinois Central, and any others I missed.

Midwestern roads? Let's see, the ones I'll be modeling on my layout (central Illinois, Peoria to Bloomington):

NKP
TP&W
P&PU
P&E
PRR
C&IM
IC
M&StL
GM&O (or Alton)
ATSF
Rock Island
Milwaukee
CB&Q
IT

14 roads, one layout! OK, most lines will only be represented by one transfer freight a day into Peoria from staging, but it's still a good representation of the great diversity you can find in the "boring flatlands"! Where else can you model a three real mile long stretch of mainline, and include the NKP, TP&W, PRR and ATSF?

Don't forget Chicago & Eastern Illinois (C&EI), Missouri Pacific, Louisville & Nashville, and, if we must, the New York Central, since it ran all the way to St. Louis. I have locomotives and rolling stock from practically every road mentioned so far.
