White, for the CB&Q's F units, but they had red pinstripes around them, so I'll have to say Red and White.

I'm with Aggro. BLACK. Like the color of steam engines, coal, oil, ash (okay, so it's gray), grease, freshly creosoted ties (close enough to call it black), did I mention steam locomotives........

Colors?? We don't need no stinking colors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chessie was never my favorite but one sunny day in the late 70's(?) a FRESHLEY painted B23 rolled by pulling a worktrain, that was the best looking engine I've ever seen.
And while I hated them while growing up, PC and NW black now hold a special place in my heart.
