If the weight that came loose is flat, you could drill a hole or more holes in the least visible spot(s) of the floor of your boxcar (but in the area underneath the weight) and inject some glue inside. Then shake the car so that the weight falls to the floor and onto the glue. I know I'm repeating myself, but I can't help it - if handling lead, please wash your hands thoroughly when you're done!
