plans for tender
Posted by tatans on Friday, May 7, 2004 9:05 PM
Where would I find detailed plans to construct a tender in h.o. preferably out of brass? I'm not too concerned as to type as yet. Maybe someone can remember if MR ever had plans from a hundred years back. any help out there? Keith

[#welcome] to the forum Keith!

In the MRR book "Steam Locomotive Projects & Ideas" by John Pryke is a paragraph on scratchbuilding an HO 4-6-0 in brass.
it is very complete and with lots of pictures and drawings and "how to"s

There is a series of articles in MR magazine on scratch-building a brass 4-6-0 starting Oct 97. The Oct and Nov 97 issues cover building the tender.
It's a great series of articles and I would recomend it to anyone interested in scratch-building.

Ray, at second glance the article in the book I mentionned uses exerpts from that serie in it, "including key assembly drawings, photos and scratchbuilding techniques."
